The Boston Store was built in 1836 by the Kelley brothers who were attracted to the area because of the rising business opportunities presented by the nearby canal. The building was used to store goods; the second floor contained 13 rooms which were rented out to local workers. Over time, the building had other uses, including as a private residence and a post office. Today, the Boston Store serves as the visitors center for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, specifically the Brandywine Falls area. Visitors will find information about trails and attractions within the park, as well as canal history.
