Managed by the Pickaway County Historical Society, the Clarke-May Museum is housed in an 1840s era home originally built by Circleville dentist Edward C. Clarke.

Managed by the Pickaway County Historical Society, the Clarke-May Museum is housed in an 1840s era home originally built by Circleville dentist Edward C. Clarke. After his death, Dr. Clarke left the home to his daughter, who lived in the residence with her close friend Alice Ada May for many years. Visitors to the Clarke-May Museum can see artifacts and exhibits donated by the Clarkes and May, as well as items donated by other Circleville families. Additional collections of Native American items, military uniforms, and women’s dresses are on display, as well. Another interesting feature of the museum is the meeting room which is adorned with drawings of bird nests and eggs by Genevieve Jones, who was an accomplished ornithologist.
