Robbin’s Crossing Historic Village

Robbins Crossing is a replica of an 1850’s village that provides a living history experience for all ages and serves as a training center for the interpretation programs at Hocking College.

Robbins Crossing is a replica of an 1850’s village that provides a living history experience for all ages and serves as a training center for the Hocking College interpretation program. The village contains buildings of the era, moved and reconstructed on site. Any repairs or modifications make use materials and techniques of the period. Volunteers and Hocking College students, provide interpretation for the village.

The village includes a schoolhouse, blacksmith shop, general store, doctor’s office, and residential houses. In addition, a working garden is on site. Chickens and geese roam the garden and a wildlife exhibit is on view in one of the houses. Interpreters work on the various buildings and are eager to engage visitors about what they are doing.

Robbins Crossing routinely offers classes on gardening and heritage crafts, some of which are available for purchase in the General Store. Robbins Crossing also partners with the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway to offer train rides to the village.
