Huber Machinery Museum

Museum has large collection of artifacts relating to the inventions and accomplishments of Edward Huber who invented and patented a Huber Hayrake in 1865. He went on start the Huber Mfg. Co. and Marion Steam Shovel Co., which later evolved into Marion Power Shovel Co. Both factories had a combined employment of over 3500 workers during their peak. Besides some of the largest shovels made in the world, the Marion Shovel built two Space Crawlers in the 1960’s and both are still in use today at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. A Crawler Tread Shoe from one of the Crawlers is on loan from NASA and on display outside the museum. The museum contains over 3000 other inventoried items, big to small. Over 25 antique tractors, maintainers and rollers can be found on display.
